Google has announced that it will be soon shutting down Google Affiliate Network. The announcement came through a official blog post by J.J. Hirschle, Head of Google Affiliate Network where Hirschle wrote, “To that end, we’ve made the difficult decision to retire Google Affiliate Network and focus on other products that are driving great results for clients.”

Google Affiliate network is working to help the advertisers for increasing online conversions on a performance basis and enabling publishers to monetize traffic via affiliate marketing so as to improve their performance across affiliate ecosystem.

It had invested significantly in CPA tools like Product Listing Ads, re-marketing and Conversion Optimizer and are also continuously evaluating products to ensure that they have a good impact for the advertisers and publishers.

The blog also states that it will continue to help the customers, as Google will be shutting down it’s Affiliate Network in coming few months, though other products of the Google can be used for the purpose by the consumers. For the affiliate publishers Google  suggests Ad Sense Network to generate revenues. Whereas it recommended Product listing Ads, re-marketing, etc for the marketers to drive sales.
“Thanks for your support of our affiliate product, and we look forward to helping you grow your business in the future.”

Previously, Google Affiliate Network was known as Doubleclick Performics and after its acquisition in 2008 by Google,  it was renamed to Google Affiliate Network.
